This week I’ve had a couple different conversations with people who seem to really hate their jobs.

One was someone who has to go to work at 2:00 a.m. He usually only gets about 5–6 hours of sleep and his schedule makes it hard to do stuff with family and friends.

The other person was a guy who spends about 3–4 hours a day commuting. And on top of that he works 9–12 hour days!

Every time I hear stories like this I think two things:

1) I’m so grateful I get to work from home.

2) How can I help these guys quit their jobs and get better jobs?

We spend so much of our time at work. So why not find or create work you enjoy?

And if you can’t do that then at least find or create work that allows you to have a life!

Waking up at midnight to go to work is not conducive to a happy life. Neither is spending 4 hours a day in traffic. That sucks!!

So as I’ve been thinking about this more I really want to do something to help others.

Even if I could help one other person quit a job they hate to find or create work they enjoy then I would be happy!

I’m considering starting a local class based on Dan Miller’s book 48 Days to the Work You Love. That was one of the best books I read that inspired me to quit my job in Corporate America in 2011 to freelance full-time.

So anyway, that’s what’s on my mind tonight… brainstorming ways to help others break free too!
