My New 4×8 Whiteboard

I love whiteboards. And I know I’m not alone. 🙂

They’re fun but also expensive!

You can easily spend $200 or more if you want a big 4×8 one. So I was pretty excited when I learned you could make one for under $15!

I learned about this from watching YouTube videos, like this one, a couple years ago. We installed one in my old office in Ridgefield last year. And we just installed one in my new office here tonight!

What’s a Now Page?

Last year I learned about an idea called a Now Page from Derek Sivers.

What is a Now Page? I’ll let Derek answer that in his own words:

Most websites have a link that says “about”. It goes to a page that tells you something about the background of this person or business. For short, people just call it an “about page”.

So a website with a link that says “now” goes to a page that tells you what this person is focused on at this point in their life. For short, we call it a “now page”.

I got in a little argument with my wife this morning. 

She asked if I could watch the kids so she could go garage selling. I reminded her I had 2-3 hours of work to do today.

I was a little frustrated when I got back to my office. 

I thought, Man, I don’t even work 40 hours a week so what’s the big deal with working on Saturday for 2-3 hours. I’m going to take a screenshot of the hours I worked this week and send it to her.

So I sent her the image above. The plan backfired!

He reached out to me because he was tired of driving from home to home meeting with prospects. He wanted to get into online marketing so he could sell insurance over the phone.

He had no website. No social media profile. No email list. Absolutely no online presence!

And since he wasn’t ready to invest in a new website I suggested he use Facebook Lead Gen Ads.

It literally took me 90 seconds to make that video and 30 seconds to type that email (Plus about 10 minutes researching him before I did that). So let’s just say 15 minutes total.
